Make engraved gifts, layered decorations and model parts with the xTool M2. Its enclosed 20 W diode laser has a 426 × 320 mm working area. Dual cameras help position artwork, while automatic focusing and a built-in air pump simplify preparation. Prepare designs in xTool Studio and test the material settings before the final run.

Make it your own

For print-and-cut projects, the Color Print & Cut package adds a CMYK inkjet module for suitable paper, wood and other ink-receptive surfaces. Deluxe also includes RA3 Lite for rotary engraving on compatible cylindrical and spherical objects. All three packages use the same 20 W laser. Plan suitable extraction and supervise the machine during every project.

Getting started

Place the M2 on a stable workbench and arrange suitable fume extraction.
Install xTool Studio on a compatible computer and connect by USB or Wi-Fi.
Fit the appropriate module, secure a manufacturer-approved material and preview the artwork.
Run a small material test, then supervise the finished job with the lid closed.

Requirements & compatibility

Provide suitable exhaust or compatible filtration before processing.
Use approved materials, keep the work area clear and supervise the machine.
Follow the module-specific setup and calibration instructions.
Use only materials approved for the M2’s blue diode laser; clear acrylic and reflective metals need a different process.
Do not laser-process PVC, vinyl or other materials that release hazardous fumes.
The water-based CMYK ink needs a suitable absorbent or coated surface; printed work should be protected from water.
Use M2-specific modules and the compatible RA3 Lite attachment. Other xTool models’ modules are not interchangeable.
A compatible computer with xTool Studio is required. LightBurn and xTool Creative Space are not supported.

Product questions

Which package should I choose?

Choose 20 W for laser cutting and engraving. Color Print & Cut adds the CMYK inkjet module for colour projects. Deluxe also includes RA3 Lite for rotary engraving. All three use the same 20 W diode laser.

Can it cut vinyl or clear acrylic?

Do not laser-cut PVC or vinyl. Clear acrylic does not absorb the blue diode laser effectively. Choose only materials and processes approved for the M2; the machine has no blade-cutting function.

Does the inkjet module print on any surface?

No. It works with suitable paper, wood, fabric and other ink-receptive surfaces. Smooth glass, metal or ceramic needs an appropriate coating. The ink is water-based, so protect finished prints from water.

Does the enclosed design replace ventilation?

No. The enclosure protects against laser exposure in the specified operating configuration. Cutting and engraving still require suitable fume extraction and supervision.

Can I use LightBurn?

No. The M2 uses xTool Studio on Windows or macOS. It does not support LightBurn or xTool Creative Space (XCS).
